Calgary Stampede Night!

Talk about Magical, one of the best, nights of my life! But...to tell the ENTIRE story, we must start from the beginning.

So...I woke up and went to work, as usual. James and I had plans to go to the Calgary Stampede, Monday the 6th, after work and hit the Simple Plan concert, which was free with admission to the park. I had booked off Tuesday because I knew I wouldn't even get to bed till WELL PAST 11p.m. that night, and I was NOT going to wake up at 4:30 for work the next day.

While at Work on Monday I was put on the duty of Side winding. Well...While on the 6th hole I accidentally sunk it into one of the bunkers and REALLY got it stuck. My boss, Mike, came and pulled it out after about 15min of pulling and pushing. It was then Lunch time so after we got it out we headed back to the shop for lunch. I was eating lunch when Mike came in and was like, "Angela, before you head out after lunch can you come into my office?" Everyone around me was like, "DUN DUn Dun!" And I literally had NO Idea what to expect! So, I go in there and Mike and Kim (My Boss and His Boss) are in there and are all like, we're a little shorthanded tomorrow, so...You can't have the day off." I was like, "Are you Serious?" They were all, "Yeah." Then I stood there confused and dumbfounded for a moment. (Video is "The New Cities")
"JUST KIDDING!" Then they pulled out free passes to Stampede Park for me AND James, PLUS TWO TICKETS TO A VIP LOUNGE AT THE COCA COLA STAGE!!! (Called "The Red Box") Where they would serve FREE FOOD AND DRINKS and I would get to see the concert without having mosh pit horror stories or anything! IT WAS AWESOME!!!!I was in total SHOCK! YAY!!!! was all I could muster out at the time, and "Wow." As I walked out the mechanic was like "See you at 5:30." I stopped and was like, "That was a joke right?" They just laughed. (I think it was a joke, and if it wasn't...I didn't go in this morning ha ha)!

So James and I made it to Stampede Park by 3 O'clock ish. (We met up in Calgary and then hopped on the C-Train there). We got lots of FREE stuff there, mostly because we didn't want to pay for anything. Dr. Ho's Electric shock on the muscles we got to use for free, that was nice. A free Ring cleaning. Free food samples. Free AMAZING massage chair usage. and other stuff as well. We Ran into his 2nd Cousins there and chatted it up. Overall the park was very enjoyable to walk around at. We even saw this hypnotist at the Coke Stage that was HILARIOUS! Weird bird people passing us, marching bands walking through the park and the like. (That picture shows the calgary tower, before simple plan came. We were IN Downtown Calgary).

THEN, it was time for the CONCERTS to begin! We first saw "The New Cities" they are a band from Ontario and then SIMPLE PLAN!, who I learned are also from Canada (East Coast French Side).

They were SOOOO Funny! Demanding Hot dogs and popcorn (as a joke) and then some guy brought them some! And one of the dudes was like "Where's my hot dog!" and another band member was like, "Dude they're right there." "Oh, O.k." They said lots of random stuff. It was funny. I HAD SUCH A BLAST! I want to go to another concert SOON! That was my first Concert Ever and it was Amazing! I loved it! and the best part with the Red Box was that We got to have fun without having people push into us, smelly sweaty people, getting drinks splattered all over us (people were thrashing water in the air) seeing girls boobs from flashing the band (but we saw the back of them doing it ha ha) or anything else that could have made the concert bad. It was great! I loved it! And I am TOTALLY going to write a THANK YOU to my Bosses! YAY!!!! That was SO FUN!!!! (Heavenly Father Blesses us SO much! He's SO AWESOME! I Mean, What were the chances the WE would get passes to the "Red Box" (Only 12 Seats in there! And usually High end Corporate People!) AND there was only US and ONE other couple in their 20's with our servers! It was sweet! Pretty unbelievable chances! THAT was for SURE a blessing from God!)
P.S. Happy 11 month Aniversary

SPRUCE MEADOWS

Happy 4th of July!!! O.K. ... So this technically wasn't posted on the 4th of July, but...We did attend the World Class show thing at Spruce Meadows on the 4th of July. So...I can still say it. James and I received free tickets to the horse Jumping events at Spruce Meadows from my parents, who were unable to attend, and we had extra tickets to give out so we invited Cory and Aubrey (Our Friends from North Calgary) to come with us! It was really enjoyable to watch. We saw the TD tournament and watched the military parade thing. The parade was just a little long, but the actual tournament was AMAZING! It was an awesome show to watch. Some of the riders actually had some trouble keeping their horses calm because a thunder storm rolled in overhead and one girl was even thrown in front of her horse and almost had her head stomped on! And then I caught video of her horse running Wild. Then it started POURING rain! REALLY pouring. But not to worry. We had a canopy over our seating area, so it was cool. The horses kept jumping and ironically a man form the U.S.A. won the tournament. A Will Simpson. He rode twice, he received third place on one horse and on the other he placed first! On the 4th of July too! :) AND he got first while it was POURING out! It was Awesome! and Amazing that the horse did slip at all! Overall it was a great experience. Well. Once the tournament was over it miraculously stopped raining and we hit the dog show. It was super cute. They had dog teams race one another with all sorts of breeds and had them race individually. We had fun, and Cory and Aubrey's 3yr old loved all the animals. She had the BEST time out of all of us I think.

Sleep Over

"When Farrah Faucet died, God asked her what she wanted, and she said "for all the children in the world to be safe" so he killed Micheal Jackson." - Family Friend (Steve Spackman).

So...On Father's day Weekend, after James got his New bike! :)we also had our Niece Zoe over for a slumber party and then took her to church the next day. She met a friend her age there (Bella) and Bella kept trying to come into our row in Sacrament meeting and when her mother tried to stop her she'd be like "I'm going to see my new friend!" It was super cute watching them together. She even drew Zoe a picture and explained it to her ha ha

Bella was so excited to have another little girl her age in Nursery. All the rest are boys and Bella bullies them ha ha but she likes Zoe, so she didn't bully her.

SIMPLE PLAN CONCERT!!!!

Well, in 11 DAYS! James and I are going to the Calgary Stampede and for the price of admission only we get to see SIMPLE PLAN!!! WHOOT WHOOT!!! I am SOOOO SUPER DUPER Excited! I've NEVER been to a Concert concert before and I've always wanted to and seeing simple plan will be like AMAZING!!!! SO EXCITED!!! (can you tell?) TEHE!!! YAY!!! I'm STOKED for it. I even booked work off the next day so that I could sleep in ha ha because the concert isn't till like 9pm or something and that's WAY past MY bedtime. Seeing as how I start actually WORKING at 5:30am every morning (meaning I have to BE there earlier than that). Yeah....Sigh....I CAN'T WAIT! I need to practice their songs ha ha!

But, BESIDES that. On Father's Day James got his first year anniversary present early. IT's a totally awesome BIKE! I'll have to post a photo later but it has the nice breaking system....whatever it's called. And it's green ... O.K. ... So, I'm not THAT great at Bike things but it's REALLY REALLY nice! It was the best price on that bike that we could find too! (Even cheaper than the states!) It was a great deal. So we're both pretty excited about it.

You should have seen the grin on his face when he got it. It was priceless...

(And yes Heather, that means Disc Breaks).

BSU Blue Turf!

So...James and I are here in Boise leaving tomorrow morning to go back to Canada. All in All we had an AMAZING weekend! We took a tour of the Boise State campus and we actually got to go out and walk on the BLUE TURF! Which not many people get to do So that was awesome. But we came here to look at different housing options and the campus and we have decided that THIS IS THE PLACE. We really feel that BSU is the place we need to be right now.
So, after I get my citizenship in Jan/Feb we have an apartment complex on campus we liked and this is where we will be for like the next 6 or more years. James plans to go into Mechanical Engineering here and he wants to play either Football or Rugby. So, he'll try out once he gets down here. But yeah...it's really exciting for us! :) We're starting to prepare now and we hope to be all set by the time we move, (money, fitness levels, medical done(because it costs nothing here), and the works).
We're pumped to get going and to be apart of BSU, the Blue Turf.

GOLF

The Golf Course opened this last Friday and so James and I went to the driving range on Friday and then on Saturday with my parents. They are ALL thoroughly enjoying my free buckets of balls there, and will benefit all summer from it! I'll get free golf lessons and FREE GOLF! This entire summer from Working there. So, I'm super excited for that! And James will obviously get it discounted. I also get to keep an Golf balls on the course, and I have already started to take FULL advantage of that! I have found like 12 or something already! And no...I do not pick up balls in the middle of the fairway when golfers have just hit ha ha But that might be hilarious if I did, but not?

I will be there until Oct. 31st and then I'm done! So I think it's cool that it has a certain time frame to it, because James and I plan on leaving just a few months after that to the states. It's been exhausting on my body with all of the physical labor they have me do, but it's o.k. Sometimes I like the "getting in shape" factor and sometimes not so much, but either way I think that this job is a great opportunity for me in the long run.
