New Calling

I was surprised at church two Sunday's ago, to hear that Brother Florence (a member of the Bishop Brick wanted to see me). I knew that I needed to brace myself for whatever he was wanting to see me for. And of course I assumed that it was just a talk or perhaps something on my tithing slip had been a little mathematically off, something little maybe?

Well, I got a new calling. I was shocked at first because I had just gotten my groove down with the 11-12yr old class. Taking their sarcastic comments and incorporating them into the lesson, bribing them with candy, being able to handle a rowdy day and a spiritual day, and I don't doubt that I was probably a little prideful in the fact that I felt confident in what I was doing and that I was the most amazing teacher ever! (Well,...the spirit was the most amazing, I just happened to be his representative for the class). And the best part was that when they all turned 12 I got to go to Relief Society instead of Primary after Sunday School. Life was bliss.

But now Things are a bit shaken up. I am the new teacher of the 4-5yr old class! I am excited yet super scared all at the same time. I feel a little inadequate, and it's a pretty good sized class of BOYS (well, there is one girl but she doesn't come too often). And one child has down syndrome, but at least most Sunday's he will have a helper there to be with him specifically. It's scary, but I hope the Lord will guide me through this one. And help me to be the best teacher I can be for this class.

Track & Field

Since starting at the gym I've been getting into the Athletic Spirit! I even read the profile's of some of the BSU coaches and the sprinting coach at BSU has a Bachelor of Science in Biology and the only experience she has is coaching High school Track & Field for three years in California. And that got me thinking what a great idea that was! I mean, for the field I'm working towards as a career I have an Associate of Science in Exercise Sport Science and minor in Dance. I am certified in CPR and AED and I am almost completed with my Personal training program with NASM. I mean, the experience to put on a resume that I worked with High School Track would be great!

So I called up Holy Trinity Academy (a Catholic School here in town) and spoke with the coach and he was really excited, and I was really excited and I'm going to be an assistant coach this year with their school! YAY! I am super duper excited! The season officially starts April 1st so he will give me another call around that time to get things going. But yeah, I'm going to be an assistant coach! I will update you all when things get going!

SOLD!

We sold our Truck! YAY! All we have to do now is sell our canopy and it will be done and done. I don't really have much to say after that...haha. I was just super excited that we got rid of it and bought an explorer from his mother for a good price. We just had a little bit of debt on our truck and I'm glad that, that is gone now. Plus we didn't need such a big vehicle for school, so we were wanting to downsize, and now we have! Hooray-ness!

On another note, James and I have been going to the gym every morning at 5:30a.m. and we have been getting into great shape! He used to go 6 days a week before we got hitched! It makes us both really happy to be going to the gym, hopefully when we head down to school though we will be able to go at night instead of freakishly early in the morning!

Triumph in the Restraunt

Last night in "The Phoenix Grill" Restaurant our group of nine had dinner. It was Rob and his parents, Whitney and our parents, James and Elizabeth Smith our Ex-roommate. The meal was great the service was absolutely wonderful. We all just had an excellent time there, except for ... one thing. Like a cockroach in the ice cream but in real life-ness. You know, one bad thing sitting right in the middle of this great thing! (A.E. Ice cream!).

Well, the waitresses, greeters and bar side servers were ALL girls and they were ALL very unprofessional in their attire. I say this due to the fact the TWO of the girls for sure were wearing T-shirts as their dress and if they was ANY I mean ANY riding up or bending over the entire world would have seen what they had. LITERALLY they both had dresses that were barley covering the cheekage on their bums. They were Just Barely covering their cheeks. It was bad. And EVERYBODY noticed. But it doesn't stop there. In the entire restaurant there was only ONE girl wearing a skirt to her knees. The rest of them had pretty short skirts. with High slits (some to the butt). Then there were boobs hanging out and sleeves falling off shoulders, everywhere you looked all you saw was Legs and Boobs! I never thought I would get dinner AND a SHOW! But, to my surprise, that's exactly what I got.

It wouldn't have been that appalling if they ALL wore the same uniform. But this wasn't the case and it was embarrassing to watch them. I mean, I don't think any of those girls knew how to respect themselves, or others for that matter. And if I had seen them on the street I wouldn't have cared, but this was a service oriented job and they were AT work. Ridiculous.

Anyways, Rob and James had to avert their eyes the entire night and even I had a hard time not looking at ALL the legs. So, Whitney, Elizabeth and I thought it appropriate to bring it to the managers attention. Because it obviously wasn't an issue they were going to address any time soon.

After the meal, Elizabeth and I grabbed the manager and politely complimented the service, the meal and the time we had. Then we gave him our complaint. We said that we felt that a few of the dresses that the girls were wearing skirts that were just a little too short. His reaction to this was Utter surprise! He thought we would have complained about something else. But to complain about the girls work attire?! He literally looked like he had NEVER hear that before. He said he would look into it, but he was really surprised! I don't think he knew how exactly to react to a complaint like like, Especially since it was from two young and hip and Extremely good looking girls I might add. Vs having it come from a 75 year old crazy lady. So, I don't know what will come about from this, but at least we felt good about doing something!

As stated at the top, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." And I'm glad I did SOMETHING!

Welcome 2010!!! Disneyland

Well...It's all over now. We traveled From Calgary to Rexburg to Boise to Salt Lake City to San Diego to L.A. and back again! It was a lot of driving, but it was also a lot of fun. I had a BLAST down in Disney Land! That was by far the Best New Years I have ever had! AND we were within budget! So kudos to us! We even got to see our friend Jenna from Alaska there! That was neat :) And James, Beverly and I all went and ate lunch at the "Bubba Gump Shrimp Co." in L.A. There is absolutely no truth to the major motion picture, but it was sure fun eating at a sports type dinner dedicated to the movie! Well, since there are sooo many photos, I'm going to have to post them into sections. Let's see....Roadtrip/Zoo, Wedding, and Disney? Yeah...that's good.
I hope that you all enjoy reading and seeing what we did on our trip down to Cali!!! I Loved it there! It was so warm! I wish I could have stayed longer!

Face Painting for New Years Eve! We wanted to get into the New Years Spirit.

We ate dinner in the 'Western' side of Disney Land at Thunder Mountain Ranch! We had cornbread and food unlimited food. It was DEE-Licious! We even had the banjo dude come over and start singing to our table (the entire restaurant could hear) He asked Carisa (in sing song tomes) who there she was talkin too on that there phone!? She said, "My brother Rob" and pointed to the other side of the outdoor restaurant where he was at, and he sang about our two tables for a few minutes, it was funny to listen too.

We Rang in the New Year at one of the many Dance Parties going on at both the parks. Our party was in California Adventures.

(I am So Grateful that Whitney got married somewhere WARM!)

The BIG Day!!! (Dec. 29th 2009)*

So...The initial purpose of the entire trip WAS because of my little sister deciding it was high time to get hitched! So, I suppose I SHOULD put up those photos now. She was married Dec. 29th 2009 in the LDS San Diego California Temple. Which is like an Ice Castle to say the least, It's extremely elegant. Great Architecture. James and I HAD to get a couple photo in front of it. I Mean, we did travel over 24hours just to go there, and if we hadn't gotten a photo in front of it, I would have been very put out. The Great thing about her deciding to get married there was of course the weather! Especially since it was like -10 up in Canada, coming to a place with grass and sunshine and so warm you didn't need a Jacket was Phenomenal! Thank You Whitney! (But not so much thank you for the distance it took to get there). These Photos are just a few of the BIG day and of the Luncheon after the Wedding, hope you enjoy them!
